Robert Cattell
DIRECTOR
Robert Cattell is an accomplished business leader with almost four decades of senior management, engineering, and governance experience across the technology and financial sectors.
Robert began his career in 1966 with the Royal Australian Air Force, specialising in Radar and Avionics Engineering, before joining Hewlett-Packard Australia and New Zealand in 1974. Over almost 30 years with Hewlett-Packard, Robert progressed from Sales Engineer roles in Electronic Instrumentation, Medical Systems, and Scientific and Analytical Instruments through to senior executive management, including General Manager of the Medical Products Group and General Manager of the Computer Group (NZ), culminating in his appointment as Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard New Zealand from 1997 to 2000 and Director from 2001 to 2003.
Robert holds a Company Directors qualification from the Institute of Directors, complemented by Hewlett-Packard training in Management Accounting and Essentials of Accounting, providing a strong grounding in financial governance and reporting.
Following his executive career, Robert undertook contract roles with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, assessing the financial viability of grant applications and serving as Investigator in Audit and Assurance.
