Sandy is partnered by Phil Molloy and Graham Smith who have extensive experience in project management and the construction of retirement villages.
Since taking over Whitby Lakes the management team has grown the village into a thriving community. In May 2011 a $2 million community facilities building was opened which resulted in significant growth in value and in demand for villas at Whitby Lakes.
Since 2009 Whitby Lakes has enjoyed steady growth and the operators expect this to accelerate over the next 3 years as the final stages of the 67 apartments are completed.
The continued expansion of the village will give an opportunity for the maintenance of the long term lending relationship between Senior Trust and the village. There is an intention to build a healthcare facility on land immediately adjacent to the village. This will add to the attraction of Whitby Lakes by providing the continuance of care as the village population ages.
The plan calls for 50 care suites and 10 hospital beds. Capital and Coast District Health Board has approved funding support conditional upon final accreditation.
